Nicole's Story
Nicole, an artist, was a long-time member at Bridge House. A fellow member brought it to the staff's attention that Nicole was having severe financial difficulties.
Trying to support her two children and living with an abusive ex-husband, she was unable to pay her heating bill and her heat had been shut off. Through our emergency fund, Bridge House was able to provide temporary shelter for Nicole and her children and helped her get back on track to living independently.
Roslyn's Story
A long-time member, Roslyn had lost her health benefits and was missing out on necessary medications — as a result, she was struggling to keep up in school and was becoming increasingly depressed. Bridge House staff worked with her to help her regain her mental health and prescription benefits, provided academic support for her throughout the college semester, and helped Roslyn get back on her feet.

Life Transforming Stories

Bridge House helped me move my things, get nice furniture, and set up my new apartment. I am very grateful."
