A large part of the Bridge House mission is to end homelessness among adults struggling with mental illness and/or substance abuse.

In collaboration with the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Bridge House and other social service agencies, came together to co-staff a Homeless Drop In Center in Bridgeport. Staff from three different agencies and disciplines provide a wide range of services including hot food and showers, onsite psychiatric and medical services on site, housing and vocational services.

Since homelessness is so widespread among adults with psychiatric disabilities, many of our members have been at risk. This collaboration offers basic and fundamental accommodations every person needs in order to begin to recover his/her life.
